Sec. 2. Definitions.- In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-

SECTION 2 (5) - Definition of Banking Company - 

5) "banking company" has the same meaning as in the Banking Companies Act, 1949 (10 of 1949)⁵;

The interpretation of this section can be taken as - 

Defn. of Banking company is not explained separately in COMPANIES ACT - but it just says that it is to be taken as per the definition of BANKING COMPANIES ACT 1949 (10 OF 1949)
