How to improve concentration ?????

Source : www.caclubindia.com

Dear ALL,
One major snag in any time management plan is the ability to stay focused throughout the day. Have you ever had days where you just couldn’t seem to keep it together and found yourself running in circles and getting nothing done?

Poor concentration is one common reason for a scattered mind-set. If your mind isn’t as strong and alert as it could be, you won’t be able to focus clearly for extended periods of time. Mental exercises can help because they strengthen your ability to concentrate, and will your focus over time.

:Here are 3 good exercises that can help you create a strong, clear focus and of course these are answer to your question

1)Strengthen concentration :

at it daily, you’ll notice that you find it easier and easier to concentrate. The stronger your ability to concentrate during your focus sessions, the more you’ll notice you’re not having trouble concentrating at other times
either. Could this be the first

2)Empty your mind :

can think of that you need to remember. This will help you feel more comfortable about releasing your scattered thoughts. Then, set aside 5 or 10 minutes to focus on quieting your thoughts. Though this exercise is called “empty your mind,” you really can’tcompletely empty your mind of thoughts. Your thoughts will keep on flowing through your mind the whole time. However, you can detach and simply let them pass by. You become an observer of sorts, watching your thoughts flow by. You’re aware that you’re having thoughts, but you don’t latch on to them and start actively “thinking” about them. You simply sit in a space of peace and being while your thoughts flow calmly
tips might be easy at first sight, but they are much more difficult to do.in a very short period of time! past. This experience is hard to describe, but once you master it you’ll have discovered a powerful technique for releasing stress and

3)Visualize for practice :

yourself giving a successful speech, getting better at sports activities, or anything else you want to master. The trick is to go through it completely in your own mind, seeing and feeling what you would see and feel while it’s really happening. The more you do this the more proficient you will become at it and the more you’ll start seeing results in your physical activities.

Hope these tips helped you in seeking the answer for concentration.

CS EXAMS

http://www.caclubindia.com/forum/cs-december-2010-exam-few-points--114054.asp

Dear CS Students,

As CS June Exams are just round the corner so would request you to note some of useful suggestions from my side. I have also shared these suggestions through PMs and forums. Hope you find them useful:

1. First kindly appreciate that panic is not the solution or substitute for exam preparation. So never waste your time and think positively. Plan and start your study accordingly as early as possible.

2. You must understand few basic things necessary for CS preparation. So workout a study plan and study according to the same. You may also take help of your friends and seniors around. Also analyse the exam pattern properly.

3. Revision is very -2 important so prepare a good revision schedule and follow the same strictly. Good revision is a key to success.

IF YOU ARE PREPARING WELL FROM THE BEGINNING:

4. If you are preparing for the exams from the very beginning then this is the time for revision and addition of some new and imp topics to your treasure. In CS do not change the books and notes quickly without sufficient reason. Stick to the notes and books selected earlier.

5. Give first preference to the study material provided by the ICSI. Especially for theory subjects like Company Law and Economic Law

6. In CS Exams Law basics must be strong so never hesitate to discuss the topics with your friend for better grip. A healthy discussion helps you recall provisions/contents in a much better way. This is one of my old suggestions but this is something very very important.

SCANNAER…BACKBONE OF CS

7. In CS scanner is one of the most vital tool to succeed. So after your initial preparation don’t forget to check your preparation from scanner. In my opinion every question of Scanner should be on your figure tips. This is very imp for your own confidence.

To complete the question given in scanner take the help of ICSI guideline answer, as the case may be.

8. For CS preparation it is also worthy to note that in CS the percentage of repetition of previously asked questions are a bit high as compared to CA so it is advisable that during study time note the imp topics or make short notes for them. It would be very helpful for you during last time revision. Prepare short notes for frequently asked questions and revise them properly.

USE BARE ACTS

9. In CS sections and case laws are very important so this is the high and right time to lift your study standards. As per my personal opinion you should 100% go for Bare Act reading. There is no harm in developing a habit to refer bare act. Kindly understand Bare Act is not for preparation and just for reference purpose. You can always refer particular section from Bare Act very quickly.

IF YOU HAVE JUST STARTED THE PREPARATION:

As time is less for preparation so I would advise you to base your preparation on Scanner. Use ICSI guideline answers for preparation. After Scanner give sound reading to some more topics important from the exam point of view.

Time management is important so take care of that. Give First preference to those subjects which are not amongst your favourite after that prepare those subjects you are comfortable with.

Also adopt the suggestions given in above points keeping in view the availability of time. Don’t forget to take reasonable rest during study to recharge you. Also stay away from unnecessary exam stress.

10. Have faith in your abilities and never underestimate your worth. Keep your confidence high bcoz self confidence is very important to succeed in life.

All the Best

What do you think about winners?

Source : www.caclubindia.com
http://www.caclubindia.com/forum/you-can-be-a-winner--137764.asp

What do you think about winners? Are they extraordinary people with special skills and education? No, it's not true. Winners are just ordinary people like all of us with average skills. What makes them winners is not their extraordinary abilities, hard work, or good luck but their ability of thinking, dreaming, acting and working like a winner. They become winners much before others notice and appreciate them.

You can be a winner in any field of your choice. It may be sports, fine arts, business or your profession. All that you need is a winning mental aptitude. All other relevant necessities such as education, strong will, dedication, motivation and hard work will follow automatically taking you to that high success level where you will become a winner by all standards. If you give your mind clear signals that you want to be a winner then your mind will start working on that direction and keep you motivating to become an active person. You will feel a marked difference in your behavior and you will adopt a winning lifestyle by getting up early in the morning, doing some workouts, eating healthy food, associating yourself with successful people, setting and reaching your goals, learning new skills etc.

Some people are born winners while others are born losers. I know a person who instead of obtaining two masters degrees could not get a job because due to his inherent inferiority complex he failed to convince his employers of his worth. The poor fellow is driving a taxi to earn his livelihood. On the other hand, a student who got all A's in A level exams told me that his success was due to his positive tuning of his mind because he wanted to excel in all examinations. He told me that his mind was so responsive that he used to learn his lessons in minutes what other students had learned in hours.

I remained an average person most of my life because neither I thought I could win nor I received the necessary encouragement from my parents, teachers, family and friends. I remained an average person till I myself discovered my abilities and assured myself through positive self-talk that I can be a winner. I am now helping other people to become winners so I can now rightly say with confidence "I am a winner".

Your mind is the most powerful organ of your body which controls your actions. You are the product of your own mind and your mind has the power to create the environment needed to win and to convert your dreams into reality. If you keep on telling yourself "I am a winner" you will surely become a winner some day.

"I am a winner" attitude is always rewarding if it is not based on false pride but on truth and reality.

SOME PRESENTATION SKILL FOR WRITING PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS

SOME PRESENTATION SKILL FOR WRITING PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS

Encouragement given by CA Club friends inspire me to write this Article which is completely based on my personal experience during my University and Professional examination. I am really indebted to all of them.

As we all know presentation plays a very important role in fetching high marks especially in CA Exam. You may use the following tips which I have observed during my study and used in my CS and CA exams:

1.          In practical problems never start your answer with Yes or No unless you are 100% sure. First mention the relevant provision and show in your answer how you reach the conclusion. In the end conclude your answer in the following manner : “On the basis of above discussion we can conclude that as per the Section-166 Annual General Meeting can not be convened on a public holiday.”  (Consider this as an example).

On the contrary if you are 100% sure from the very beginning always start your answer with Yes or No. Like in the above problem it is very much sure that AGM can not be held on a public holiday.

2.                   Try and always mention the relevant section. Make it a habit. Do not ask anybody regarding the importance of remembering a section. If you make it a habit now it will 100% pay at the time of your final preparation.

3.                   In distinctive question never segregate 2 provisions with the help of a line.

For example: Distinguish between Fixed and Floating Charge
Mention the distinction in the following way:
(i)                 Fixed charge is created in the specific property on the other hand floating charge is created on the class of property.
(ii)               Fixed charge clutch the property whereas floating charge floats over the property.

Conclusion

4.         Use only Blue and Black Pen to write. Never use any other colour otherwise wastage of time and bed impression on teacher.

5.         You may underline the relevant provision or any substantial provision.

6.         Start your answer from a new page with the heading “Answer to Question No. 1/2/3 or 10”

7.         Try and improve your recalling power. When you firs see the question the entire answer should be in your mind. (Yes it is 100% possible). Benefit: You’ll be able to complete your answer with more valuable content as compare to others and very quickly & within a certain time frame. When other writes 5-6 points you write at least 8-10 points.

8.         In theory paper never read practical problems first. First attempt flat questions. Like in Audit or Law first attempt short notes or distinctions etc.
Reason for not attempting the practical problems first is that in the beginning you have enough time to read it twice or thrice and waste your time.

9.         If you mention any case law highlight it properly. Write it in the following way:
                          Ram Singh
                               Vs.
                       Union of India

write some about Interim and Final Dividend and mention in the end: “hence the points of distinction between Interim and Final Dividend are as follows”     10.        In distinction problems first write something (2-3 lines) about the topic. Example: Like in the distinction between

11.        If in a passage there are various points try and write them separately in points and give them separate number.

12.        In exam never use short forms like AGM, EGM, CG, CLB, ROC, ICSI, ICAI, SAP, AS.
Etc.

13.        When you start your answer by using a section use like this:
“As per Section-171 of the Companies Act, 1956”

14.        Do not worry you may start your paper by answering question No. 10 first.

15.        You may experiment all these points in your university exams or rather I would say you should use university exams to improve your writing skills.

16.        I have seen many students after receiving their exam copy start making margins with their scale on the left side of the exam copy. This is some thing really horrible. Avoid it.

17.        While writing be specific about your answer. In other words write your answer to the point. (Faltu copy bharna baker hai professional exams mai)

18.        Try and make an effort to complete your paper 100%. In other words attempt full paper of 100 marks. This is very important for fetching more marks.

19.        Try and avoid cutting of words. (See the example below)

Whenever a company fails to file the  annual accounts and annual returns, desc -ribed in sub-clause (A) of clause (g) of sub-section (1) of section 274, persons who are directors on the last due date for filing the annual accounts and the annual returns for any continuous three financial years commencing on and after the first day of April, 1999, shall be disqualified.

Observe the first line of the Para above and see the word described. Half the word is in first line and half is in second line. This is some thing very poor as far as professional exams are concerned. So avoid it.

20.       During your preparation try and study everything. Everything here means each and every topic. The basic idea behind this point is that you must have something relevant to write about the given topic.

For example a short note came in the paper regarding “Reserve Capital” u/s 99 of Companies Act, 1956 if you have never ever heard about Reserve Capital then you’ll be completely blank. So to avoid such situation this point may be prove helpful to you all.

Hope you all agree with me on the above mentioned points. I am very hopeful that these points surely add something to your Examination copy. Wish you all the best for June’09 Examination. Give your best shot.
